But the NFL in general doesn't like to be associated with my city for moral reasons.

But the superbowl parties have become big, big moneymakers for casinos lately. I think they want a cut of the action.
But, at the same time, they have injured lists..........

    ACK!

Conservative play does not win playoff games. As the Jets and Chargers found out recently.
Look at Madden's winning percentage as a Coach before calling him stupid about gameplay decisions .

Blizzards and snow also tend to benefit smash mouth football running teams over passing teams. Now, you can earn the advantage of playing in conditions favorable to your team by winning home field advantage for the playoffs, but it shouldn't come into play for the championship game, which should have little external factors interfering with the game.

Of course, the Super Bowl should never be in a dome either. Football is supposed to be played on the grass, and it would give a huge advantage to any Dome team that made into the superbowl.
Well, the dome teams are neatly eliminated in the playoffs with regularity so there's little chance of them sullying the Superbowl with their presence.

As for the good weather thing, I don't agree. Part of football is dealing with the environment you have at hand, and I think it adds a lot to the game. The Superbowl should be available to every NFL city to host. Southern teams have an advantage in hot weather, and Northern teams in the cold. Superbowls will be divided between the two areas, which seems fair.

he's still a dinasaur. I fail to see how he could win anything as a coach. I'm thinking the NFL was real weak back in those days. He would have no clue how to face the top defenses we have in the league now days.

Usually people say it the other way around. The complaint is the NFL is weak TODAY and back then you had the better teams (though I don't believe either).

And he played in a league with the Steelers of the 70s and the Dolphins of the early 70s. Three straight years he was in the Conference Championship before he won his SuperBowl but ran up against the Dolphins or Steelers. Of course, then he went to the Conference Championship the next year, but lost to the Broncoes.

He was one of the best coaches of all time. He coached against some of the best: Landry, Noll, Shula, and he's winning percentage bests them all.

if anyone cares about the NFL restrictions. I'll post a link. It's actually a sports commentar.

It doesn't only affect our city though. They shut down fans viewing the game in the Patriots stadium big screens during last year's superbowl. And are restricting the cruise ships being brought into Jacksonville this year from hosting parties.

the NFL has now successfully shut down free speech.

They are now saying what the local broadcast stations can air.

Last year my city managed to buy ad time from 5 local stations (New york, SF, LA, Dallas, and Chicago). But now the NFL has shut that down . Unbelievably they can force local television stations what to air during time allotted specifically for loccl ads.

actually I'm glad (Fox in this case, not the NFL) banned this ad:

Many U.S. media outlets last month noted Fox's rejection of a planned Super Bowl ad for Airborne, a natural cold remedy. The ad would have given viewers a brief glimpse of 84-year-old actor Mickey Rooney's rear end, but Fox deemed the ad "inappropriate for broadcast," USA Today reported.
I have no desire to see Mickey Rooney's ass.

I'm glad the fast food industry didn't get the K-Fed commercial banned.

They should blow off the Pro Bowl and play the Super Bowl in Hawaii.
