  • And thus begins

    The Church of Belichick...

Before the games with the Colts and Steelers, it seemed those who picked NE had an almost religious like faith in Bill Belichick to figure out something. Well, that faith has been borne out. All (at least in the AFC) must now bow down before the altar...
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

― C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man

    • Well, this New England team already has to be ranked with the all-time greats. It has won two out of the last three Superbowls, set the all time record for consecutive victories, and is in the process of winning this year's Superbowl with lopsided victories over the best teams the league has to offer: Indy, Pittsburgh, and perhaps Philly.

Everyone now is finally beginning to realized that Brady is, in fact, the best QB in the league. Clutch. He may be good enough to be mentioned in the same breath as Bradshaw, Staubach and Joe Montana.

      • I admit Brady is a great story. I never liked Bledsoe, it was great to see him come in like that. I would like the Patriots more, but they just don't have the style of play I prefer.

        • How is Bradshaw one of the best QBs of all time? Because he won 4 Superbowls? Frankly, I'd take Marino or Elway over him (and plenty others).

          • Bradshaw was a major reason why Pittsburgh won four Superbowls. He was a very good QB.

Also, Brady is being mentioned with Joe Montana. See this from ESPN:

Very good, perhaps, but one of the best of all time? Naw. The guy only has TWO more TDs than INTs (212-210). He was only in the Top 5 in passing yards once in his career (1977) and was only a three time Pro-Bowler.

Ummm, guess Vick is a crappy QB then, like we have been telling you all season.

You always seem to say there is more to QB than stats, right?

The man won 4 Super Bowls.

Take your pick, Vick is a great QB and so is Bradshaw.

                  OR

Bradshaw was not a great QB and neither is Vick.

                  PWNED!

                  ACK!

Oh, and congrats Atlanta on a HELL of a season. We never thought you'd get this far. The city of Atlanta is looking forward to your future success .
THe city of Atlanta is one of the worst sports towns in the country. Most Atlantans probably dont give a damn that their team lost. See my post a few pages back for 10 reasons why Atlanta didnt deserve to get to the Super Bowl.

                      • Sour grapes even after his team won.

No wonder Jim Mora (Sr) on Fox Sports Radio said that Philly is the only team this weekend that had to score early, with the intent of taking their own fans out of the game.

That comment was meant as a reality check for Imran. I'm tired of hearing his BS about how great Atlanta is..

Now its time for Reismark to step up and acknowledge Philly's greatness..

Um... since when does 'not the best of all time' = 'not great'?

Though I would like you point out where I said Vick was one of best of all time .

Also, Um... Vick has been a starter for TWO seasons. He is also the focal point of the offense and has only up to go. Bradshaw played in an offense where the focus was Rocky Blier and Franco Harris. Do you think Bradshaw was the reason the Steelers won those rings?

                            PWNED!

(furthermore, I consider Brady as knocking on the 'all time great' door, partly because of his wins in the postseason, because he is the focal point of that offense)

Sour grapes even after his team won.

Yep... one of many reasons Philly fans are reviled, in addition to cheering when opposing players are injured.

                            • I was right. The line opened at 61/2, and has now moved up to seven in favor of New England.

                              • Oh, and btw, Vick's passer rating at 24 years old (78.0) was better than McNabb's (77.8), Farve's (72.2), Carr's (69.5), and a shade worse than Culpepper's (83.3). Of course, Manning was a beast and when he was 24, his passer rating was an eye-popping 94.7 ( ).
