Fox TV Accused of Stereotyping American Muslims
Apparently the good Islamic kid wasn't seen and everyone had their eyes on the evil sexy mom.NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Fox television network said on Thursday it will provide its stations with TV spots that portray Muslims in a favorable way after it received complaints for featuring followers of Islam as terrorists on its hit television show "24."
That terrorist family is going to disappear quick now (except maybe the kid), if only they weren't a sleeper cell and instead an innocent Bill Cosby-ish upper-middle class family!
"When average Americans don't have any personal interaction with Muslims, whether it be at work or at school, they base their perception of Islam and Muslims from what they see on TV," she added.
Is that really that bad? If I want to know what Scottish people are like, aside from groundskeeper Willie on the Simpsons, I watch Highlander or Braveheart. I didn't know that British kids could have wizardry powers until I saw a Harry Potter movie on TV.Comment
