    An era of Anglo-Dutch Co-operation

In a great expression of the eternal alliance between the two great Protestant nations, the Dutch and English ambassadors today signed the treaty of Amsterdam.

    Its major provisions:

England would come to the aid of the Staats General in their war against the heathen Souix.

Holland would share its maps with the English troops to facilitate the common war effort.

Dutch Industrial technologies would be exchanged for English advances in the fields of politics and the techniques of Canal building.

Both countries look forward to further mutual assistance.

In other news, English trade gathers momentum, and the ravages of the late war are almost completely repaired- except of course for the colonies lost to French expansionism!

    • Heh, chriss is getting so much help with the sioux, there will barely be anything left for the dutch soldiers to fight (yup, we "signed" a similar treaty as well (sans the tech part) a few days ago)
No Fighting here, this is the war room!

      • Well, to tell you the truth, I HAD to agree to go to war against the Souix when I did the tech trade with the AI. I had to trade with the AI, because Chris and I have had a few wee communications problems over the last few days.

The only effect will probably be that the Souix wipe out my Falmouth colony in short order, meaning that the Merchantman bugging you on the Great Lakes will soon go away!

My bulletin just made the best of a bad result!

        • The United Provinces prefers to have good relations with all the powers.

We have prepared a large army for our Souix offensive, and it will move West starting next year.

We have also added another African colony.

We offer to purchase the transport, John, so it isn't lost.

          • Chris,

That's very civil of you, and I take you up on it. Can I have the option to repurchase if Falmouth survives until the Souix are pacified? When it is my turn I will try to make contact again.

            Thanks,

            John

                          • Chris,

I could not see you on AIM tonight (you were probably still working), so I played my turn. If you get a chance to contact me when it's your go, please try. If not, no worries - it's only one ship.

Maybe you could sell me one of yours later if I still need it.
