    • To: Sparta, Everyone
      From: Carthage

Would you like some Carthaginian wine? We have two different styles. A sweet wine from Baleares, and a strong sour wine from Barca. We should be acquiring wine from Baleares shortly, and we are pushing to gain a wine resource that is just a bit north of our current borders in Hispania.

      • I thought Belize was in Central America? Or is there one that isn't listed on the map?

        • Just a typo.

          • Why wouldn't I just buy wine straight from Belares?

Because they are not a nation, and soon they will be part of Carthage again.

                • Good answer! But if they weren't about to be completely annihilated, I'm fairly sure I could buy from them, I think the rules work that way. Irrelevant, in any case- they don't have an army.

                  • Really? I guess since they have actual land now, they are considered a nation, which is why they are coloured yellow.

                    • That was my thought. Well, so much for them, huh?

                      • I'm sure they were very drunk while they lasted. And anyway, it's the only action my soldiers will be getting for a while, so at least it will be a close battle.

Micha do we still have to pay something to open the trade route?
So, did you come up with some numbers here?
If both numbers were the same, Carthage would gain a small (rather tiny) advantage because of the slightly higher efficiency... So please tell me what values we´re speaking of...

                            • Hi, you got room for a totally clueless guy? I saw the map from fooloish's thread but don't know who the colors are. Magna Grecia sounds fun. I'm not sure when I'll have the time to read the rest of this thing, but I will be a consistent player.

I'll try to post orders tonight, but skip me if your close to an update already.

                              • Welcome!

Update will be on tuesday, so no need for a hurry.
About the map and colours: See the first page, you will find a detailed map there, with full inscription of course
It is linked at the top of the second post.

I would *really* think hard about whether to take Magna Graecia or not; It´s the last hindrance to Roman rulership in Italy, and currently at war with basically everyone in the region.
"skipping" wouldn´t work for it, for either it will die next turn or it will conquer Rome. This way or another, there won´t be a freeze

Lydia, on the other hand, is much richer, with better relations to other countries and can expand into the Black Sea area as well as into Spain. I´d really recommend playing Lydia...
