  • They aren't Roman slaves, but they were in real life. At this point, you have not utilized the slaves in that area, and I assume you need to order that to be done.

    • So send a detachment of your army up there to start taking slaves, I guess.

            • Roman Republic

ante diem tertium idus Martias 480 ab Urbe Condita(13th March 273 bc)

Hail Rome! Hail Sparta! Hail United Italy!

After the death of senior statesman Laurentius Aelius new senators were eager to fill the power vacuum. To prevent political turmoil and contain the power struggle in these dangerous times the Senate decided to nominate the new consuls in a secret ballot poll. The winners were Lucius Papirius Cursor and Appius Claudius Caudex.

Have you seen theese kind of graffites before Marcellus?

"No, these are completely new. They are pretty mysterious. Do you know what does the "wicked" refer to?" Marcellus replied.

I've seen this before. There was one few months ago in the IV neighbourhood and couple few weeks ago at the Subura.

The two vigils, Roman police had been inspecting the new graffites someone had drawn to their stations wall. "Nefarii improbii! Vadite ad inferos!" or "Cursed are the wiked. Go to Hell". The mysterious graffites were the first signs by a new and secret society calling themselves The Pantheists. Not much was known about them but rumours said some senators were involved.

After the news of Pyrrhus defeat and the astounding success of Romano-Spartan campaign a great joy broke in the city and when the legions Insignia and the Spartans arrived for the triump the people rushed to kiss the always groomy looking Spartan Elites who broke into a laughter and started dancing with the crowd.
This was something unseen in Rome but people were explained that the Spartans are the most musical of warriors, they sing, play and dance when fighting as if trying to get into a some sort trance. The Spartan commanders explained that this was only done because everyone was happy to fight and to express that this was a good day to die. Nevertheless after weeks party the Spartans received medals and laurels for their courage and were wished goodbye and the Roman Navy were ordered to help in their transport.

Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam.(I've got the catapult so gimme all ya money or I'm gonna hit you with this rock right here!)

The Nation known as Magna Graecia collapsed after the Northern Polii had broken away and the polii in Southern Italian peninsula didnt have a chance gainst the victorious Romans. Only Sicily was left and they declared a new Kingdom of Sicily. The Senate still held them responcible for the aggression and so when a truce was proposed, the Senate refused to even hear the delegation. A fierce debate rages in the War Council about whether to attack to Sicily or not.

Senators debate in the War Council about whether or not to attack Sicily.

So what about Sicily? Sure they deserve to be taught a lesson about friendship and loyalty.

"And we all agree with you Gaius! The thing here just is that both the legions and Roman society needs a little break from all this fighting." Senior senator Cornelius Sulla replied.

"We have been on the edge for a long time now and its...."

Save your rhetorics old man! Now is the time to hit back against the enemies of Rome! The young upstart senator Gaius Aemilius rudely interrupted.

"How dare you!? War mongers like you are going to lead Rome into destruction one day. If Laurentius Aelius was still with us he would know better than let brats like you use our military to repair your wounded ego! Lets ask what the Legions general staff representatives think." Sulla shouted angrily and the other senators murmured loudily.

Honorable Senators, People of Rome, we agree with senator Sulla that the troops need rest. We also believe that the society needs a little repair now that many new Greek cities have joined our Republic. To secure the newly conquered terrotories we have reasoned that the Legions should be spread along the whole peninsula, but that 2 legions would be left to Rhegium, once we get there to prevent the possibility of a Syracusan invasion. Also we need lot more legionaries to hold our positions in the North as well as in the South, since we never know what the gods come up next. Military spokesman Servilius Fulvius Paetinus Nobilior calmly explained.

...and so the following orders were issued.

              Orders

-Spend 138 talents to train about 10 000 new legionaries.

-Spend 10 talents to organise a party for the war weary Romans and held a triumph for us and the Spartans.

              - Merge Apulian guards to Legion II and add 7500 new legionaries to it. Capture Mediolanum. And Fortify (F)

              - Add 1 250 legionaries to legion I and 1260 to Legion V.

Use the other legions to capture the rest of Italy. Use siege army if necessary.

After assisting the Spartan fleet in transporting the Elites back home. Move fleet to Neapolis to be repaired and give the sailors a well deserved rest.

Move Legion I to Rome, III to Tarentum, IV and V to Rhegion. Promote Servilius Sulpicius Praetextatus to command Legion I, Aelius Manlius Capitolinus to Legion II, Lucius Geganius Macerinus to Legion III, Quintus Servilius Fidenas to Legion IV and Vappa Monterus to Legion V.

              Repair the 9 captured triemes
