  • Wisconsinite soldiers, encouraged by the mass fleeing of the Roman troops, charge into Roman territory, advancing on all established fronts well further than had previously ever been seen in warfare.

To ensure that no peasant uprisings will take place, Roman citizens are being scattered throughout the Republic of Wisconsin, while Wisconsinite settlers are being moved into the roman homes.

The massive breakout stopped, however; at the Roman Island fortress of Newfoundland.

In the seas the superior Wisconsin ships have been shredding Roman transports, especially around florida, where wisconsin had stationed some of it's best ships and crews already to prevent a Brazilian invasion.

To Druids: Thank you for your help, gifts will be sent to your nation when the seas are safe once more.

To Oregon: The food supplies you sent us were instrumental in keeping our people fed, we thank you humbly.

To Texas: We've got 'em on the ropes, now let's kick some @$$!!

To Tierra del Fuego: Expect aid soon from Wisconsin. We will eliminate the warmongering tyrants of America for the mutual good of our people.

Oh puh-leez! they shred my ENTIRE navy? whatever, the rest I have no problem with, but just discard this. Obviously the transports had plenty of armed escorts, from a nation and a half's ENTIRE navy. Your fleet wouldn't stand a chance against my entire navy alone, not to mention all the Brazilian ships that were accompanying mine. I'm going to have to say this never happened.

ehhg, all right, but now that the Greek naval commanders have learned their lesson, I would like to point out a few things:

The Semerians say the armor is only 1 cm thick, but if they ever change their designs to thicken the armor, all my previous analyses hold. So, with thin iron armor, the following apply: The ships still would be slower and less maneuverable. Not completely immovable, but on a fourth-millennium BC galley, that extra weight would have a severe negative effect, enough to give normal ships a significant edge. The armor protecting against fire arrows is basically its only advantage, as it isn’t thick enough to protect against ramming, which would be made even easier by the aforementioned lessened speed/maneuverability. In addition, ships of that era generally fought under oar power, not sails, but because of the oars being underwater golden ships would either have to take an even bigger hit in locomotive power or run under sails, which would not be vulnerable to ripping shot and fire arrows. So the current remainder and any future expansion of the Greek navy will take advantage of these things, and having fought them first hand will no longer make the mistake of underestimation that led to the previous defeat.

              Greece to Poland:

Thankyou for your offer. While we are somewhat skeptical of their value in combat, we were also skeptical of the golden ships’ value, and look where that got us, so we will purchase a small number of your carts and, should they perform well, will purchase more.

              Greece to Semeria:

We didn’t mean to deride either your ships or your ship building capabilities. We were mostly trying to intimidate the Egyptians (not that it worked), and hope than you will consider the issues we brought up, as perhaps that will lead you to improve the model. However, we request that you cease aiding the Egyptians, either militarily or with food shipments (which is really military aid; the Egyptians wouldn’t have nearly the food problem they do if their soldiers were farming instead of killing innocent Congolese). The Egyptians have clearly proven themselves to be a menace to us all.

              to Phoenicia:

Hmmm, that was short-lived. If you can’t live up to your promise and help fight the Egyptians, you can at least keep fighting the Ethiopians and detract from their ability to attack Congo.

              to Wisconsin:

We will teach you how to build and use kites and kite ships if you teach us how to build and use ballistae, especially with those neat little rolling ball things. And by the way, good luck with that whole suicidal/genocidal Roman problem thing.

              At home…

Begin construction of walls around all cities and towns that don’t already possess them. Rebuild navy with kite ships up to previous levels over the next few turns or as long as it take, whichever is sooner. Attempt to resupply our troops in Egypt, possibly by landing the new forces to open up routes and fend off Egyptian army (but only of our ships can get through, don’t attempt this if we will obviously loose)

OOC: does Alexandria have any fortifications? Please don’t resolve the Greek/Egyptian battle yet, SKILORD, as my battle orders depend on the answer to this question.
Those walls are absent of glory as they always have been. The people of tents will inherit this land.

                • Georgia is not at war, but has recent;ly evaded doing so with the Mongols.

Alexandria has minor fortifications, the type any fool commander would put up to hold the city, the fortifications are in no waymajor, but they are sufficient to do most... fortification things....

                    -Upgrade military to Very Large
-Intensify military training even moreso if it is even possible
-Do not disrupt construction that is taking place across the nation
                    -Fortify border with Georgia
-instill 'dislike of Georgians' into current soldiers.
-begin training all civilian men in the art of warfare, all men required to undergo 'boot camp', but are allowed to return home if they wish. This is to ensure in case of war that the mongol empire has access to an already gigantic trained army.

                      • The Ainu were indeed grabbing too much land for the liking of the Emperor, but he supposed that they would not pose a threat if they were a friend. In fact, he knew of many other nearby nations that could be worthwhile allies to the Empire. So, the messengers were sent out.

                        From China
                        To Ainu:
We have changed our mind. We will sell the isle of Formosa to you for a suitable price.

                        To Georgia:
I just offered a Mutual Defense Pact. Do you accept?

                        To Oregon:
Please note the offer our people made your nation, and respond.

                        Orders:
                        Build Army
                        Upgrade Navy

This war should be fought in the northern wastes where the disputes lie, not in the homelands of the nations of America. It is with this that if you give me Greenland, I shall come to your aid.

                              From Semeria

We will take heed to your apology, and would like to offer one ourselves for our hot heads. The people of Semeria are of a noble and forgiving type, and hold no hard feelings to the intellegent Greeks. However, we will not stop providing humanitarian aid to Egypt for another 100 years (2 turns). We will not let innocent Egyptians die due to their war effort. However, we will stop after 100 years of aid. Their economy should be up to normal standards by then.

                              Signed,

OOC: Icaris, it is not fun to judge over and over the UU's, nobody can get them right unless they really existed. As long as it is not ridiculously dumb (I don't think Golden Ships are that bad) just take into an effect that they are slower, but they are more heavily armored.

                              • OOC: yeah, its just that when I saw my (very large) fleet had been completely massacred by a lesser number of golden ships when at the very least they should have been able to run away I was surprised and frustated. Mostly I was trying to point out a few things so that it wouldn't happen again. But everything here is a little far-fetched, so i'll keep my criticism to the things that really need it (in my own warped judgement)
