  • Ok, a final request . . .

To acquire the last two desired unit graphics for Imperialism 1870.

1.) A Meiji Period Japanese infantryman, circa 1870s-1880s. I've looked around, through this thread, through the one like it at Civfan, and no luck so far. I've searched for artwork on the web using the google image search and still no luck. At this point accuracy isn't an issue--coming up with something that just looks good will do the trick.

2.) An 1890s era Mexican/South American infantry-type unit. Something from the Diaz/Madero period. I've seen pictures (long ago) of the uniforms from this era, and they don't look significantly different from the Russian WWI nemo (I think?) unit. Tan-ish uniforms, billed cap, etc.

These are my last two requests (if Tecumseh allows me to use one of his graphics), and then I'll shut up.

    And release the damn scenario.

        I noticed a late 1800 - early 1900 pic here.

        • Tecumseh; Thank you.

Prometeus; Where? I looked around on the site (great site, btw), but was unable to locate a Japanese uniform for the period in question.

I might simply end up using a WWII era uniform for the c. 1900 unit. Inaccurate, but . . .

            • Unfortunately . . .

That's the problem, ANZAC. I can't even locate a photo, picture, whatever of the objective anywhere I've looked. I do have a facsimile of an old Japanese painting in a book I own that shows a line of Japanese soldiers firing on Chinese soldiers, but there's no date on the painting, so I have no idea when the uniforms shown were in use.

If you like, I can scan that image and send it to you.

              • Here's a picture I found of Japanese infantry in the Russian-Japanese war. If you squint you can just make out the soliders uniforms

                • Wouldnt the japanese 19th century uniforms look something like the brittish uniforms of that era?

:edit: just noticed case posted a pic so this isn't of that a big importance I guess:/edit:

                  • It's ok.

I found some graphics that will do. Not sure about historical accuracy, but they'll do.

                    • I better add some input, iI have a book of Russo-Jap War, and They have like a picture of them and they look just like the Nemo WW2 one, but the caps are different, and the other thing is it was a miltary style fashion suit thing, but i saw the photos of the fighting and they look like Germans with wooly hats in trenches, except for the jap faces.

Ok. Thanks for the units, however, I've already got all the units I need. The events file is half done; when I finally finish it, my scenario will be ready for playtesting at last.
