Totally agree. SimCity is a clear example. I'm talking about SimCity 2000 and its sequels, not about SC 2000 and the original (SC 2000 was sooo much better than the original).

You're talking about SimCity 2000, but not about SimCity 2000?

This space is empty... or is it?

        • He preferred the first sequel but the ones after SC2K were worse

I have to say that I certainly played SC2K far more than any of the others. It was challenging and playing from 1900 on you really saw the pace of change as new buildings become available. Call me cheesy but I really liked progressing into the totally futuristic too, like fusion plants and arcologies. SC3/4 never really gives me the same feeling of change.

Thanks, Grumbold, that's what I meant. Try to spend more than a month away from your daily English practice and things start to get difficult...

                • Does 'Gigli' stand for "really not too bad if you waited for the patch and weren't expecting an updated MoO2"?

                    I'm guessing not.

                    • The problem is, when a game gets bad press, it's just about impossible to find for download on the internet. I did a search for outpost, and found lots of scathing reviews, the demo for outpost 2, even one place would allow me to download the full game of outpost 2.

                      But Outpost itself was MIA.

I found Outpost 1.5 in a used game store, and bought it despite the bad press.

OK, it's not civ, but it doesn't suck, either.

                      Same goes for ascendancy.

Rise and Rule still sucks, though
Any man can be a Father, but it takes someone special to be a BEAST

I was just about to point out that Horsie is simply making excuses in advance for why he will suck at Civ III...

                      • All I can say is Outpost was coaster of the year and ranks as one of the worst of all time in many poll and I thought it was worse than that.

Ascendancy had a lot of issues, such as a brain dead AI, but it was and still is playable. It had many first in 4x games and a loyal following, until Logicfactory pulled the plug on the board about two years ago.

Outpost2 at least was playable and I finished it, but not good enough to play again. It was one of the first to have a day and night cycle with headlights on trucks.

Yes. I have had a better time staring at my feces than playing that excuse for software.
