  • Magic goes Japanese

Wizards of the Coast is a family of studios specializing in building role playing, trading card, and digital games for all genres of players.

Far from the metal plane of Mirrodin, in a distant corner of the multiverse, lies Kamigawa, a world that waged a brutal war against its own gods.
Looks like we're getting a Japanese-inspired saga, like the Mirage saga was African-inspired.
Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost.

Cool, I couldn't wait for it. The Japanese folklore and setting rock, Magic-wise, so it is only normal they do it

DinoDoc: I get the impression that in the Magic Universe, gods = pretender planeswalkers, really strong spirits of the dead, or a description of some magical force generally.

But yeah, I like the fact that it seems Japanese, not generic-Asian. The orochi gave it away.

Therefore this is not a syllogism.

Almost relevant to the god stuff.

Just from the style guide, it certainly looks like something to look forward to.

Anyone want to post some images from that? I grew out of the magic-trap along time ago, but that peeked my interest.

You can see the African influence in art like

                    Withering Boon

                    Grinning Totem

                    Cursed Totem

                    Flood Plain

                    Disempower

                    Ivory Charm

                    Peacekeeper

                    Karoo

and others. If I think of any more I'll post them.
