Graphics matter. It's just that gameplay matters a hell of a lot more.

      Exactly,

I never understood that myself. Of course gameplay matters, but graphics add incredible levels of enjoyment.

And no matter how great a game becomes due to gameplay, it can only be improved that much more with proper graphics to marry the gameplay.

I wonder how that will apply to Pirates 2. Technically of course it's a sequel, but it's been so long (and technology has advanced so far) since the last game that is practically a brand new game.

That's what I'm hoping too . It's been so long that perhaps he'll treat it like a brand new game .

he doesn't really seem to care when he does sequals.
          Civ2 comes to mind.

As for the next game, they should try something new. It would be interesting to see what they come up with.

Honestly, what new TBS type game can be produced now? Seems like we are running low on creative options. Then again, people always say that and then are blown away by a new idea, so in conlcusion, just ignore me.

Playing sort of like the BattleTech world can be very interesting. It would be like MoO with a twist.

Alpha Centauri is probably the hardest game to create a sequel for.

But then, the potential for it is equally huge.
