This city is going to go nuts if the Cubs win a world series. Although I'm not about to get my hopes up. When my dad was a kid, he remembers hoping the Cubs would win a World Series. Then, as a young adult, he became more pessimistic, yet still held out hope. Now, as he reaches the peak of middle age, he concludes that the 80's were just false hope to crush his dreams and that he'll die before the Cubs win a World Series.

I can just see myself in 40 years talking to my Granchildren, "Yeah, when I was your age those Cubs had some chances." The cycle will continue, and then, in 2098 Sava the 5th will finally see a World Series victory for the Cubs.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Our hope now rests in the hands of some great pitchers.

Prior and Wood look sharp so far... And while Estes is getting crushed so far, as a Fifth Starter, I would take him over most others.

And yes, the city would go totally nuts if they were to win a series.

Hell, If the Cubs are still in the race by the All Star Break, I'm thrilled.

The Anaheim Angels started out the season 6-14 last year. A fast start means nothing in an endurance run.

They are the exception, not the rule. Usually teams that are under .500 in April don't make the playoffs.

And the Royals had a good run. Rodriguez is a GREAT young pitchers. The Dodgers shouldn't have let him go.

Dodgers will probably be out of the running by late September. I would like to see a Yankee-Dodger World Series sometime in my lifetime.

They were pretty suprising last year, and this year Kevin Brown looks healthy. They really could be good. But they are in a tough division.

It must be nice to be wishing for a match up... All I want is my team in the Series... I don't give a damn who they would be playing

What the **** is wrong with Chicago?

I can't believe this happened again...

Fan attacks umpire at U.S. Cellular Field

CHICAGO (AP) -- A fan came out of the stands during Tuesday night's game between the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox and attacked first base umpire Laz Diaz. Security and players came to Diaz's aid and the fan was quickly taken away.

Immediately after Carlos Lee flied out to right to end the eighth inning, the fan ran on the field and tried to tackle Diaz, wrapping his arms around the umpire's legs.

It was the first appearance by the Royals in Chicago since coach Tom Gamboa was pummeled by a father and son who came out of the stands last September.

Three times earlier Tuesday night, the game was delayed when fans ran onto the field before being tackled by security guards.

I hope they don't pull this type of **** at the All-Star Game.

Security is going to be as tight as... well, put your own analogy here... at the All-Star Game, so I doubt it.

Cardinals lost reliever Jason Isringhausen for a couple months. What is it with St. Louis that their pitchers keep getting injured?
