Should there be a Kurdish State?

With the fall of the Saddam regime its been discussed of what to do with the Kurds in the north. As you all know the turks will have none of it and could possibly go into iraq if one was set up. On the other hand the Kurds have never had their own nation and have basicly been passed around by every great power in the area since ancient times.

So this begs the question...

yes, The kurds deserve a state, and some of it should be taken from Turkey. That's in the ideal situation.

How could anyone nonforcibly cause an annexation of turkish territory to an enemy of turkey? Thats not going to happen. I agree with archaic, that this is situation just setting itself up for disaster no matter how noble the intentions

Maybe the US should bomb Turkey's a$$, then set up some Kurdish guy as the leader of the new freedom-loving democratic Turkish state!

if they want it, then yes. if they're smart though, they'll accept self-government within the new iraq and hopefully that will please everyone, or more accurately not piss anyone off too much
