if reconstruction is done well, it will bloom and flourish. if it's not, you can bet your victory-proud ass that another strongman will come to power.

And in response to Q---I really dont believe that MOST of them wanted the US to lose but rather they just cant handle that their dire predictions so far have been dead wrong.

isn't it too early to tell whether some of these "dire predictions" are dead wrong or not?

some of them have a much longer time frame than three weeks or so. indeed, many of them suggested if something goes wrong during reconstruction, that's when most of the bad things will happen--not during the war.

i would like to know, however, why you more gung-ho people kept insisting that saddam would probably try to use forbidden weapons? that prediction has been dead wrong thus far, hasn't it?

It is indeed a good day. If i were an Iraqi in Baghdad, id probably be celebrating too.. but as an American, i wont be celebrating fully till Iraq is a successful self governing state *rosses fingers*... I REALLY hope we can pull this off...
