  • Ned, I don't have a clear opinion on that matter.

Then again, as a basic rule, of course anything that messes up Turkey is good as long as Turkey remains threatening.

Although I'd prefer friendly relations which we are starting to develop...

But as a principle Kurds have a right to their freedom. Both those In Iraq as those in Turkey.

By the way, this is also an important fact to keep in mind. Apparently what you receive in Israel is just ORT and RTR.

Where are the mass destruction weapons?
The weapons used in proximity of civilian areas are GUIDED using accurate, fault-tolerant systems.

Systems can fail, and mistakes can happen. These, are not forseeable.

There is a world of difference, however, between that, and KNOWING FOR A FACT, that a SAM that you launch is going to come back down, hit a civilian area, and explode.

There are 1.8 million reasons for an 'invasion war'.

          Where are the WMD's?
The Coalition has found a BM-21 MRLS with chemical warheads. They are obvious since they are obvious liquid warheads, and there is no reason whatsoever for this, except for a chemical or biological WMD attack.

You forced me to scroll back through this thread in order to find the site you referenced. But it was just 'iraq.ru'.

I don't know how credible this site is. Personally, I don't read this site. I prefer to read well-established Russian newspapers and news sites.

It's there name. Why shouldn't they be recognized as such?

Saddam is dangerous in that he's shown active willingness to use WMD's both in combat, and as a method of civil pacification. This is pretty unique.

You don't need to kill EVERY dictatorship... just make the odd example of those that don't bend to your will.

                          • DinoDoc, I think Turkey now has a real problem. They have few or no friends in Europe. We may have a formal alliance with Turkey due to Nato, but I can guarantee you they no longer have a friend in the US. Where does this leave them. Alone in the world without influence. If they need help financially or need diplomatic support in a dispute, they can no longer count on support from anyone.

                            Turkey really screwed up.

                              Because:

                              Saddam is our mortal enemy.

                              Saddam is too ambitious.

Saddam is too ruthless, especially in using WMDs.

Saddam's rule is one of the most brutal in the world today.

There 4 reasons together make Iraq the top target.
