                    Jerry did it because he couldn't hear what Kramer's soft-talking girlfriend was asking him to do.

                      Yeah, they show the PR episode in syndication. I've seen it a few times.

                      Jerry agreed that he would when asked by Kramer's girlfriend, a low talker who mumbled everythinng she said. He didn't know what she said, so he agreed to wear it.
