Hell no -- in fact, two years ago, I found out about the campus' gay-straight alliance organization that existed only in name because it had no active members.

I got involved in trying to revive it, but to no avail -- there is no active faculty or administrative support for this organization except for the advisor if a faculty member is interested.

That's terrible.

There's a very large gay-straight alliance type program here. I've never attended myself (no need to) but I know quite a few who have: www.ucalgary.ca/~glass

They even host an annual "Gender Bender" dance on campus which is quite popular.
