    • Sky news reporter on FOX reports that Saddam's forces are using mortars on the Shi'ites. Brit artillery and American JDAMS are striking the Saddam mortars.

Brits will move in at dawn so that they can distinguish between friend and foe.

                • Al Jazeera is also reporting the Basra uprising and they have reporters in the city.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

                  • Not directly related to the war, but related to the cost of the war...

Senate votes to cut 10-year/$726 billion tax cut in half.

The Senate unexpectedly reversed itself Tuesday, voting to slash more than half of President Bush's proposed $726 billion tax cut and dealing a blow to the keystone of his economic recovery plan.

A week after refusing to do so, senators voted 51-48 to reduce the tax reduction's price tag to $350 billion through 2013.

                          • There is an unconfirmed report about a friendly fire incident in which a Brit tank fired on another one. 2 dead, 2 injured. I'm looking for a credible source.

                            Edit : Confirmed by Reuters.

                                --------
WASHINGTON, March 25 (IslamOnline.net & News Agencies) - During the time of war, the U.S. media is coming under water-tight constraints from the Bush administration, signaling perhaps an end to the era of 'free' media.

On Monday, March 24, an alternative news site Yellowtimes.org was shut down by their Internet Service Provider (ISP) after publishing photographs of the U.S. soldiers who were killed captured by Iraqi forces.
