Nonsense. A democratic president was one who eased oil sanctions on Iraq.

A Democratic Nominee (Gore) petitioned to let out the National Petroleum reserve whe gas prices were high.

Wrong, The fundamental asset we will be gaining is power. As in, not worrying about our power decreased by a WMDized Iraq, not being humiliated by the French forcing to not do something, and turning the most hostile state in the region to the most friendly one. Power in the Middle East region is what we need to fight the War on Terorism.
Now that the cheerleading screed is out of the way, try reading the post. We're talking about Iraqi assets here, and the ownership structure thereof after occupation.

Oh, and how do you figure that Iraq will be the "most friendly" government in the region? Will that be a condition of democracy?

              Well, it would be friendler-er.
