Every publication is biased to a certain degree. I found these articles in a google search. Ironically, I found no articles saying oil had absolutely nothing to do with it

It's impossible to say at this point, Master Zen. That's the point.
How can you or I, or anyone else tell why this is being done? There is so much crap out there that the picture is... muddied, to say the least.
Pick 1.
-The US is after direct control of Iraq's oil.
-The US is protecting the ability of the region to ship oil.
-The US is trying to prevent the future problem of Saddam gaining WMD.
-The US is acting because Saddam already has minor WMD.
-The US is acting to free the people of Iraq.
-The US is acting to divert attention form domestic problems.
-The US is acting to further the War Against Terrorism.
-The US is acting to preserve regimes in the region which are friendly towards it.
-etc.
Can't pick just one, can you? Neither can I. Rather it is a combination of some of the stated and debated reasons. Some good, probably some manipulative. I'd bet there are factors that none of us know about, yet.(\__/)
