He didn't get fired for being anti-war. He got fired for being stupid.
Yes, at my job site, I'm going to debate and harangue my coworkers.
Frankly, all he had to do was say - "I hope you're right." and no one would care. Even "I hope you're right, I dislike casualties on both sides." and I doubt anything happens, but to say "the media is there to see it so that people like her can see all of the women and children who get killed and realize what they support" is just plain idiotic unless you know who you're talking to.
I wouldn't go up to a rabid anti-war person and say "I hope they bomb every Iraqi they see so that the world will be a better place." It's stupid and irrlelevant. He was at work - if he thought she was an idiot (which she probably was judging by her reaction) then tell her so or ask her to quit yapping about Iraq and work.I never know their names, But i smile just the same
New faces...Strange places,
Most everything i see, Becomes a blur to me

I'd bet there was a whole long story as to why this man's employer was dissatisfied with his job performance. I seriously doubt it was just being anti-war which caused him to be fired. Agrueing with and haranging co-workers was probably just the straw that broke the camel's back.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

A free country is more than having laws which protect certain behaviours, it is also having a tolerant population. I think the US (especially some areas) has the first covered but not the second. And without the second the first is useless.
If I was in the UK I could walk around with a T-Shirt saying "Tony Blair is an evil dictator" and the only comments I would get would be "Yeah, right on!". I could burn a flag and no one would care. I can be as unpatriotic as I like and no one would give a hoot. Not so in the US with the crypto-fascist "our president" and "our flag" and "our way of life".He's got the Midas touch.

I can see American Muslims or Muslim Americans (whatever) wearing mandatory green armbands...
I can see camps for the peace-sign wearing hippies...
I can see the army marching the streets of New York...
I can see French restaurants being marked "Europeans"....
I can see Books being burned....

Im not saying that this is happening, nor that (in that extent) it will.
All I´m trying to say is that these kind of things quickly get out of control if not stopped right away.
There are plenty of examples, some even from recent US history. You must remember (not implying you are THAT old) what happened to Asian Americans after Pearl Harbour, or what was happening during the 50´s with the big witchhunt for Communists.
So instead of being lippy, you should think about these things.

Now thats a post I can appreciate. Not that medication stuff.
Then again, I might have been a tad bit unclear with my initial post...
I think you all got my point, though, so no blame on me!!
