Pre-Statehood Jewish terrorism
In the 1940s, two Jewish underground organizations, the Irgun Zvai Leumi and the Stern gang, were responsible for a number of terrorist acts:
And the guerilla attacks were condemned (and the groups were later dismantled) by the mainstream of Jews in Israel.
I'm suprised that you didn't note the arab terrorism in Palestine that had originated more than 20 years earlier in 1919. Oh wait, no I'm not.

A sematics game is all fun and jolly, but that cannot change the fact that these people targeted civilians to force a change in the political scene. That is precisely what terrorism is about.

The King David hotel was the military headquaters of the british at the time. The Deir Yassin incident was an attack that started against armed (and attacking) civilians - otherwise known as militants. And "hundreds" did not die in that incident - and, for the most part, it became infamous because Arab leaders started exaggerating reports for propoganda purposes. As for the others, I don't know the details.

hi ,
and just as there are some people here who claim that when hamas or hez****la or whatever group blows up innocent people its an attack on a justified military target , so is the hotel bombing a justified military target , .....
the main point is that we dont blow ourselfs up , and documents have revealed that the british knew way in advance , ....
we dont know when a bus blows up , or when we are going to get a knive in our back , .... we dont know in advance when someone is going to sneak in our houses and goes strait to the childrens room , ....

He really doesn't know any better.
Nice save, UR.

Sounds more like a turf struggle on who gets the cafeteria contract.
The universities both owned the cafeterias and did not subcontract them out. At least, that's how it was for the Qinghua cafeteria. I never ate at the Beijing University cafeteria so I'm not sure.
What's kind of amusing about this is the old Chinese adage about the two universities. That Beijing University (which focusses on literature and arts) produces a very revolutionary alumni body - including Mao Zedong, whereas Qinghua (which focusses on science and technology) produces a technically expert alumni body including present President Hu Jintao.
So the joke goes round that Beijing University's alums tear the country apart, and when they're done with that, Qinghua alums put it back together again.
Of course in this case perhaps a Beijing University revolutionary teamed up with a Qinghua University chemistry major.
I heard a similar thing happened in Shanghai's FuDan university ... does anybody have any reports on this either way?
(And before you mention the old adage that all Qinghua girls are unspeakably ugly, I hasten to add that I was only there as part of an exchange program! )

Are you sure? IIRC, Mao was just a librarian there, where he met Prof. Li.
