Saddam is authorized to reap a few billion in oil revenue. He's supposed to spend it on food, medicines, and humanitarian supplies, though.

You're right that Gore squandered a big lead, then there's Ralph Nader as well - but what Bush's family and supporters did in by mitigating ten of thousands of votes in Florida and got away with defies belief!

That is what tipped the scales.

The worst thing is that they did just enough to get lucky...

Yeah, and supplying dangerous weapons to Iraq is our job... BOYCOTT FRANCE!

Yeah, but did you ever ask yourself, *why* you do that?

Because they ignore UN resolutions by the scores, instead of just one or two, like Iraq?

Because they are the last true Apartheid state in the world?

Because routinely assassinating political enemies is cool?

Because Israel is such a good friend of the United States, who did for you, what, exactly?

          Just because?

It's not the first time I see you to repeat this faulty argument, DinoDoc. Iraq would also be overjoyed to sell you Kuwaiti oil after it captured Kuwait. Yet for some reason you had to liberate Kuwait for the sake of oil.

This war is first of all for power, and in this respect it may be important for the survival of the US. Oil is close second. WMD, if any, are distant third.

So in order to punish Iraq for ignoring the UN, we're going to ignore the UN and attack!

Sounds eerily like Hitler. He always mumbled about survival, too, while threatening the national survival of *everybody else*.

The Bush Lobby is sure a worthy case for a new Nuremberg.

Iraq already tried to build an empire, build and proliferate WoMD's, bully other countries... pretty soon they'd start assassinating foreign leaders and propping up puppet regimes. That's our job! WE have to stop them111111111

Loosing his home state had nothing to do with it?

Iraq would also be overjoyed to sell you Kuwaiti oil after it captured Kuwait. Yet for some reason you had to liberate Kuwait for the sake of oil.

One of the reasons for that war was that the US was fearful that other states might conclude that aggression pays and we would have to deal with more wars of conquest.

When even a raving moron like Tribune (who sees a Jewish conspiracy under every bed) sees the truth, why can't you?
