Of COURSE they will continue to rattle the saber then! The idea of paying them to stop developing better sabers (aka their nuke program) is ludicrous, in that context. Why would the NK regime give up its cash cow?

Our (both USA and SK) policy towards NK is wrongheaded, IMO.

No one knows yet. It might eventually work against one nuke, but if a lot of nukes were launched it would be overwelmed I'm sure. If there is another arms race it will probably be abandoned, because it will be cheaper to just build more nukes.

My housemate's driving license makes him look like said man with odd hairstyle. Fortunately the New York driving license bureau failed to see the resemblance - given that they'd have to know A) who Kim Jong Il is, and B) where North Korea is, I think it would have been quite unlikely for anybody to have made the connection.
