Every year, without fail. It confuses the hell out of all the foreigners when things start exploding randomly on the 5th of November.

What the hell are these? The joke would've been funnier if you had used some buildings people had actually heard of...
Isn't the Eiffel Tower still around? Or the Arc de Triomphe? I always thought that arch was beautiful; it can even make a parade of Nazi stormtroopers look awe-inspiring.KH FOR OWNER!

I wonder if the people who donnate to the IRA realise that politicaly they are Marxists who would love to see the end of the USASpace is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

Well said MOBIUS,if I had the choice of being French or being an American?,I would take being French anyday!.Their history, their architecture and their culture is so much more to be proud of than anything America can ever have.

Because, unsurprisingly, there are hardly any French posters on this forum. Does that make it any less wrong?
If I were to make a hideously racist comment where no one else could hear it - would it make it any less racist?
NO!
Personally, I think anyone attacking the French here is a coward because they know no one will flame them for it...:rolleyes
OK, let's all cut the crap and say we're Africans then...Eddie

Did you forget about the Norman conquest? Though of Viking descent they were after all technically French.
Anyway, it was a good joke. No harm should have been taken.
What concerns me more is the French-bashing I've seen examples of in USAnian media lately. Equally the retoric against other allies not applauding your current policies (like Germany, or the rest of the world, Britain excluded), or even the constant efforts to make fun of the dissidents still brave enough to raise their voices (Michael Moore especially, the Hollywood left generally).
The virulent hatred I've seen in some news articles is disturbing. Seems like your media have fallen victim to the blood haze, and I'm not amused by seeing the world's by far most powerful nation being led by a certified incompetent born-again fanatic, while your once outstanding free and outspoken press has been reduced to his personal guard dog.
Believe me. Some of us are saddened and even frightened.
But I digress.

It concerns me too,and I think it's disgusting.I have very many American friends on the net, they are lovely people, but if I heard them talk about France like this?,then they would no longer be my friend.
Also, the British public are NOT with bullsh*t Blair on this,he is just another dictator and he doesn't care what us voters think at home,so long as he thinks he looks smart on the world stage...
