The average American can't even find Iraq on a map. Still they support the war. I hope at least the bomber pilots know where to fly.
    Do they?

No, no! The Canadians are imperialistic expansionists because of the continuing oppression of the French in Quebec. Do you see protesters outside Canadian embassies? No. What a bunch of hypocrites.

Too bad we actually let Quebec have a vote on sovereignty any time they want...

The referendum was actually to decide whether or not the newfies accepted.

Generalizing is unbecoming... personally I know the position and names of all Mid-East countries and I remember learning it in 6th grade. Obviously when we have shows that purposely seek out the dumbest people imaginable you'll find people without a clue, but I'm willing to bet the majority of High School grads know the geography af the Americas, Europe and the Mid-East. Granted, I'm not sure about Africa or Asia, but that's what happens when your education is Euro-centric.

Well I think Apolytoners are a little better educated than the average citizen (in their respective countries). After all, it takes some intelligence and education to become a Civilization fan.

Thus, perhaps it does not make much sense to discuss general level of education here. However, I have personally met plenty of stupid Americans who cant differ Austria from Australia.

That makes more sense than waving the hammer and sicle as the commies in my home town did.

Imperialist propaganda. A truly democratic country would have a 98% voter turnout, just like Iraq's recent re-election of Saddam Hussein.

                          Almost there :

There was a 93.52% turnout in the 1995 referendum.

                          Registered voters : 5 087 009
                          Turnout : 4 757 509
                          Invalid (rejected ballots) :86 501. (1.82%)

                          Yes option (separation) : 49.42 % (2 308 360)
                          No option (status quo) : 50.8% (2 362 648)

                          No chads. Pregnant or otherwise.

Obviously the Imperialists stuffed the ballot boxes.

Actually, Straybow, you're mixing things up.

Saddam had a 100% turnout with 100% approval. (Every single last ballot...impressive)

Mussharaf the trusted ally (who is not a dictator, really) got 98% approval in his last "referendum".
