  • Nasa is a waste of funds!

    Yea I said it!
You gonna crusify me becuse I want accountability for what I feel is the greates rippoff in human history!
Gonna call me names and attack me because I don't think we live in a Star Trek world?
Before you start, know this....I value human life over everthing materlisctic. You don't know me, before you attack/ban me..........think!

    What is NASA?
What are they doing up there?
    Following a space dream?
    What dream?
    Whos dream?
What have they contributed to human kind to justify all the funds and resourses wasted?
PC to play video games?Tang? Velcro? Tupperware and styrofoam cups? What is so damn important to risk so many lives?
They can use robots to do the job! ( or what ever it is they do)

Drugs and tellecunication devises to improve human life?
Oh yea, the pharmcutical companies are really thinking about helping people when thay spend all that money on new drug reaserch.
You don't really think they are doing all this space exploration for human kind do you?
Satalites? for the cable and communication companies to make more money.
NASA is out to make a buck!!!!!!
    (There are many other examples)

    think!!!!!!

can you come up with a few?

I bet this is gonna be proven a cover up!!!

    Times gonna tell folks.

" if the congress had given us more FUNDING this would not have happened".( heavy sarcasim)

Good exscuse to git more money eh?

I am just speculating but I think something like this goes on behind closed doors to get more funding.

Why are we looking for life on other planets?
Before we start looking for life out there... should we not be taking care of the life allready here?
Coulda fed many people with the funds wasted on those failed probes to look for microbes on Mars

This is not Star Trek people!
This is real LIFE!, it was just a damn TV show!
I have been told to git a life!
I say "git a life" and do your own thinking.

You a sheep or a thinker?

Why so many people willing to waste funds and resources boggels me.
I am glad to see that I am not the only one asking these questions.

The news reporters are starting to ask these very same questions I am asking

From another post I made I was shocked that so many think the shuttel is a safe ride!
CHRIST PEOPLE!!! this thing killes every 30 to 40 flights!
1 in 75 chance it will blow up or crash on every mission!!!!!!!!!!

They/you call them courages, I call them stupid!

    think people!!!!!!!!

Saddens me to see that this is the generation that will be in charge.

    Think!!!!!!

please be better than the sheep in office now

Ok, bring on the name calling and flaming
show me how much you can think for yourself and not let others do the thinking for you(sarcasm)

You don't have to agree with me.

    just

    do you own thinking!!!!

    BTW
    Im not trolling!
    This is how I feel
because I don't agree with you this is trolling?

Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

If you can't convince me then your in for a big dissapointment.

I think this crash is going to shake the very foundation of NASA.

for Boddington's to say it's a troll says a lot...

          Without NASA we wouldn't have:
          Cell Phones
          GPS
          Weather Satelites
          Satelite Recon for military purposes
          Satelite Surveying

You get the picture. The amount of money that is spent on NASA is insignificant compared to the knowledge and applied science that has come from the history of space exploration.

Naturally, this is a reaction to the Columbia tragedy, so I'll forgive you Doc...

Glad to see the worth of those 7 lives is trivialized. After all they were associated with an organization that has done nothing.

            .0000000000001

For my money this troll was in bad taste.

Think of all the lives saved by all the technologies gained by the NASA program and space exploration in general. And also consider that when this planet dies, the human race might be able to live on other planets because of the endeavors of our modern day pioneers.

And I've heard various family members and NASA co-workers give statements like, "Knowing the consequences, they might have gone anyways."

The Columbia astronauts were well aware of the risks involved. Their deaths were not in vain either. We're all going to die anyways. I'd rather die in a space shuttle accident helping out the advancement of the human race instead of being killed by a drunk driver or something. That's food for thought also.

Doc is right. It's a collosal waste of money. That's why nobody else does it nowadays.

That said, the reason why we do it is correct. We will control the technology for humans to get to space. Among other things, it ensures our supremacy in any future military space race. It's strategic spending.

A byproduct is all of the science. In addition, there's lots of feel-good blah purchased with it.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
