  • Average 30.5 , Yes, thats quite hot .. How long does it last ? Ive been in India quite a bit, so I know I can cope, but visiting is one thing, living in a place a completely different thing.

    • western oregon and washington

if you like cities than portland and seattle

if you are considering canada also than victoria and vancouver

      beautiful country

great weather (if you don't mind the occasional rain)

little snow falls on you, but snow is just a short driver away

never unbearable hot, never unbearable cold

      not humid

      mild wet winters

climatewise the best place I haveever been

      • Through August. The Spring and Autumn are normally quite nice, though.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

One difference though is that the UK has a much better public transit system. North America in many ways was built with the auto in mind, it's sometimes very difficult to do anything without one.

for anyone who likes a mild climate

and doesn't find rain all that bad

the pacific northwest is the perfect place (disregarding economic and social factors)

                  • Ive heard about the rain in the NW, is it really that bad ??

The transport system in the UK is not as good as you think, London is ok (although its getting worse), but most other places have real bad transport. Where I live, you can't do anything without a car, and I travel 15miles to work (30 miles a day).. its really adds up.

I guess the real matter is, I can travel for 1 hour and get from Newcastle (Facing the North Sea) to Carlise (Facing the Irish Sea) coast to coast ... you couldn't do that in Concord over the states/canada .. so there is a economy of scale involved.

                          • April-May its awful here, just when the rest of the country is blooming into Summer, we get stuck with 12'c drizzel for 2 months . .I hate it.

Complaining about the weather is an Englishman's birthright .. so I guess its ok.

                            • I recommend that you take a look at Omaha, Nebraska. It's a center for the IT industry and has a much lower cost-of-living than the other cities mentioned. It also has a growing Indian community and lacks the traffic and crime problems you find elsewhere. It's one of the best small cities in America, IMO, so check it out.

Greater Omaha Chamber's mission is to make Omaha a great place to do business, work and live. Omaha, we don't coast.
