  • Where in N.America should I live ??

OK, lots of you live in N.America, and as im planning on immigrating (damn immigrants) in the next year or so, I wondered where you'd recommend .. Id love to live in Canada, but either way, lets say Canada/US .. here's the kind of place im looking for :-

    City, of reasonable size
    Good size Indian population (S.Asian)
    Plenty of IT jobs
Not too hot in the summer
Nice place to bring my 2 year old kid up
    plent to do

Well .. Ive look at Toronto, and I like it there a lot, ive been recommended Vancouver also, but anywhere else worth visiting ??

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

      san francisco bay area...

although you might want to be sure you have a good job before you move here as the cost of living is killer.

      but canada is nice too

Well, from your criteria, it sounds like the Bay area of California is the place you should be - it fills all of your listed needs. Of course, it is rather expensive (especially if you live in "The City" [San Francisco]) but the average income is also higher, so it's not that bad.

MRT is correct, if you plan to move to the Bay Area, be sure to have job interviews lined up in advance....it will make your life easier.

250k? in the actual city of san francisco nothing.

now if you get to the east bay(fremont, hayward, union city) there might be a 2 bedroom one bath.

In SF proper? Not much. You would have to start looking from (at least 500K). However, you can find homes for 250K on the East Bay, and possibly in the lower penninsula.

Ohh if I go anywhere, I'll have a job lined up, don't worry .. I need a work permit anyway if I move to the US, Im able to move to Canada because I qualify for Emmigration (ie, Ive got over 75 pts on the form) , not sure how it all works for the US, but I can get a work permit, if I can find a job there.

Yes thats true, oddly enough, id not considered SF .. I think I shall start routing around .. Are there specific area's where the S.asians tend to live, or are they spread out (In London they tend to live in specific Areas)

The reason I ask is, My wife is Indian, and where we live currently there are very few Indians, and she'd like to have more asians friends if I move ..

viceroy, most likely if you lived in the east bay youd be closer to your job. the east bay is directly across from silicon valley and there are 2 bridges that go across.
