Well, educated eye does not have any problems with following the puck even if it moves super fast. See? You need more NHL time!

The NHL needs revenue sharing, a salary cap, to get rid of the red line and the olympic size rink.

          And refs. Real ones.
          What?

I used to like basketball. Especially college baskeball when our local college was the #1 team in the country (back in 1991). They suck now. And the NCAA had it out for the coach and the university. Of course we did break a few rules, but still they had a vendetta against us.
I still think the NCAA tournament is one of the premier events in sports, but I agree that the NCAA is one the most hypocritical sanctioning organizations ever created.

No freakin' s***. That West bracket in 1991 was loaded with quality teams:

                Seton Hall
                Arizona
                Michigan St.
                Utah
                UNLV
                Georgetown
                Virginia
Vanderbilt (the third best SEC team that year, seeded 9th)

Then the NCAA decided to put Duke in a pansy bracket (Midwest) so that they would be able to meet UNLV and dethrone them in the final four - if UNLV made it that far, that is.

Never, ever has there been such a blatant case of loading the brackets in order to "get" a particular team.

Here are the brackets and results: http://bracketville.tripod.com/1991.html

I don't find it hard to see the puck whenever I've watched TV...you might just need more practice?

Reminds me of when Fox added the big tracer for the puck to help the American audiences see the puck.

by popular request I'll post to talk about UNLV in 1991.

I don't mind them losing in 1991. The won in 1990- that is all that is important .

Some mistake they made. Well scheduling for one. Aside from Arkansas, they didn't have hardly any tough non-conference games. This is a problem UNLV has had througout most of its history including this season. We have been playing easy non-conference teams this year. The only notable team we beat was DuPaul. And they really aren't that notable. So what happens on our first conference game? We lose to BYU .

So they had no challenge all season long. We were in an easier conference than we are now. We were in the Big West. A bunch of cheesy california teams for the most part like Irvine and Santa Barbara. We rolled over everyone by over 20 points for nearly every game. The lack of challenge showed itself in the tornament. We started having trouble starting with the sweet sixteen especially the elite 8 game.

Next up was the lack of center. All the suporters said that the two centers added up to more points/rebounds/block than the center they had in 1990 (David Butler- the only senior we lost that championship year). The problem with this theory is you can only have 1 center in at a time. You can't have 2 centers in the game at once!. So neither center was as good as David Butler. This is another thing that hurt UNLV in 1991.

And the third thing that hurt was our humiliation of Duke in 1990. They were badly humiliated. We broke tons of championchip game records in that game. Most points scored, highest margin of victory etc. This was a revenge game for Duke and they got it.

I do agree with you on the seeding. I don't know who makes those things up, they are kind of cheesy sometimes.

I just would like it to be known that was a legitmate team those 2 years. Our NCAA violations occured at other times with other players. I've had people tell me we didn't deserve those 2 final four appearances, which is clearly wrong. We did pretty good, because it is very tough for us to recruit. Schools like UCLA and Arizona get first pick out of the best players in the west. Larry Johonson we got from a junior college. Great pickup there.

maybe its regional cause only nerds say basketball sucks here in NY.

I'm from Jersey and I HATE basketball.

Just give me American football, baseball, soccer, and hockey (in that order ). I actually enjoyed curling in the Olympics (the strategy part ), and am trying to get into NASCAR (a bit). Hell, I'll even watch golf and tennis over basketball .

God Imran, stay the hell away from NASCAR.

If you want to get into racing look at the real leagues, like Formula One, CART, and hell, even IRL (even though ovals are----BORING)

Eh... it's better than basketball .

And I didn't mind the one race I did see. The fun is watching who passes who and when, not the track itself .

They significantly changed the rules to F1 this year...should make it MUCH better.

No more traction control, no more launch-sequence stuff, no radio communication to the drivers in the cars, etc.

the fun I had was camping out and having a tailgate party that lasted the entire weekend. There were fairground where you can camp by the Richmond track where I saw my first Nascar race. So me and my buddies camped out and had a long ass tailgate party.

It's interesting meeting people from all over. People come from all over to see a Nascar race.
