Against the death penalty, but for abortion as birth control.

Yeah, keeps me bugging too, altough a cliche.

Define 'socialist'. Lot of fellows seem to mean evil red komiis by "socialists".

How is this contradictory? First, many people (like me) are vegetarians for health reasons, not moral.

Also, not eating meat/eggs is, for many, out of objections to how the animals supplying such products are treated while alive.

How's this for contradictory: A "pro-life" person who staunchly supports the death penalty. Or any "Christian" who supports the death penalty, for that matter. I doubt Christ would approve of it.

And my current favorite--presidents who went to Yale based solely on who their daddy was who then decry affirmative action at universities. That's a riot!

How is that contradictory? Anti-abortionists insist the embryoes are human beings but fail to make their case.

Now, OTOH, supporting the death penalty but against abortion is contradictory.

                        I don't think its contradictory.

Yeah, that is merely supporting the killing of the guilty, of the keeping alive of the innocent.

Whereas braindead liberals like to kill innocents and let the guilty live.

It's only contradictory if you make no distinction between innocent babies and convicted murderers.

Here are a couple of thoughts on the subject.

The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.
                                F. Scott Fitzgerald

Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.
                                George Orwell
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. But they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."
