Happy ending? Man go and see the movie. I think it's not that happy ending. It has nothing happy in it, absolutely nothing. Only misery. Realistic misery and pain. It's a powerful movie.

edit: yeah, I've also seen it. It's 'Behind Enemy Lines'. It's decent entertainment, but it has no real value. Fantasy movie . But nice entertainent for a rainy day, just shouldn't be taken too seriously.

I don't know if this movie, Savior, shows the people and the situation correctly like it really was, but it's still good, if facts little bit forgotten. I'm telling you, if you're interested about the war in Balkans, or war in general, you really should check it out.

Anyway, I still keep telling you about the movie, see it. It has no 'funny moments', no jokes, nothing. Just horror, but not like chopping heads horror, mostly pain and horror of everyone in there. It's not about what happens in the war, or how things go in the war, you don't even get a clue if you see only that movie. It's emotional movie, and left me sad afterwards.

Now I pretty much know that Ned and DinoDoc might be in favor of it, it the model proves to be safe for national security. Kramerman is also in favor, if it works and does not have bad faults in it. John Miller thinks it's ok, I'm not sure about VetLegion.
Jaakko is not so much in favor of it, but sees some logic in it. Now, we have almost 100 replies and over 300 views, let us hear what YOU think.

Yeah, it's time to bring this one back to life again!
I was filled with joy and good vibes when I saw Drakes thread, unfortunately it was closed.. I guess this is the thread to continue discussing this matter.

Now, this is a great idea. Of course it is. I do not agree that this will attract mercs too much, as most of them don't want to do binding long contracts, and they are not making much money either in this American Foregin Legion. THat's for sure.

Also the terrorists infaltrating is not so big threat, or bigger than it now is. First of all candidates go through screening, checking from interpol etc. Just like in FFL. You can compare every cndidate with your own terrorist suspect databases etc. Or build one if there is not one yet. The benefits are greater than the bad sides.

Also, they don't have any way to communicate with outside world, but maybe letters, they should be all written in english and checked, so that no terrorist messages go through. They would be also separated, so they can't do much recon, and destroying stuff, getting vital information and spying. All they can do is to try and harm their serving mates, and that's not too big threat. Even the terrorists would be too tired to try that.

Also, as the situation is now, the terrorist can infaltrate the US quite easily, and it's more beneficial for them to stay in civilian population, not go through screenings, being able to communicate better and follow though plans, make more destruction in civilian side. Or then attack military bases in the US soil, but not from inside. You can't do much damage if the system is implemented carefully and these things considered.

This NYTimes article was only readers letter? Damn, I was hoping it would be official. As I've said many times before, this idea is too good to be passed.

This thing needs some forcing, I think if we gather like 10 000 US citizen and start raising our voice, it's gotta be heard! If you are not for this, you are with the terrorists, since you don't want the US to have all the needs available. Think about it!

Besides, I have no wish to fight in UFC, I wish to fight in the US army against dirty terrorist and threats to the free world with my US buddies. That's about it. I wouldn't mind that citizenship neither, or educational benefits. But at the end.. I'd do it for free.
