So you're okay with Japan and Taiwan arming themselves in response to this?

All right. If North Korea invades my country, I won't complain.
Very funny.
Look I don't know if you're Canadian or not or whatever. But it's obvious you have connections back to the homeland.
Secondly after a certain amount of time my browser stops displaying pictures, smilies, and avatars on Apolyton. If you close it and restart it it will return back to normal. That's why I originally asked if you were from Korea because I didn't see your Canadian flag and you don't speak like some casual Canadian observer who doesn't have any emotional ties to the situation.
I appreciate your comedy skills however.

And they won't agree to that.
I'm sorry but very real consequences (cutting off food aid, etc.) for deciet are needed to avoid going through this exact same dance the next time NK feels the need to extort more aid than they were recieving. I don't see how that is too much to ask.

I'm not OK with NK getting nukes. I think they're one of the most dangerous countries on the planet. And if NK gets a bunch of nukes then I wouldn't blame Japan or SK too much for building a few of their own. Not that Japan probably doesn't already have a few bombs ready to be assembled if need be...
They already are telling the NKs that. But they aren't going to tell them too hard, because they're friends.
Then they need to speak louder.

I'm not saying it's too much to ask; I'm making a prediction as to how NK will react.
So what would you do genius? (Besides going for the default answer of blaming Bush for the world's problems).

Do I?
I thought I was being rather dispassionate, actually. I refrained from calling the US imperialist, belligerant, etc. I simply said what I thought of the current ploy by the US gov't: that it's shortsighted and does not take into account the attitude of NK towards the rest of the world.
Just don't give them anything. Let them bleet on about a sea of fire or whatever. Do international sanctions.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Dear Leader (the only person who matters) seems to be quite insane as even you admit. So it is kind of hard to take his views into account.

I am a Bush supporter but I am on the record as saying that the Axis of Evil speech was probably the worst thing he has ever done.

I would have stayed in negotiations 3 months ago. I thought that general idea would have come through in my first post. And I don't really care about who to blame on this one, because the situation is serious enough that it's more important that it be resolved than to win an argument. This has the possibility of being a lot more dangerous to your and my safety than Osama ever was, and certainly than Saddam is.
He's bluffing. And if he isn't, then we might as well have this fight now, not in the future.
