Shinui looks like the Republican party of Israel: the party of the Middle Class - wants lower taxes, less socialism and a stong military.
My kind of party.http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/JOrbisPlayer.php?path=John+Williams+The+Imperial+M arch+from+The+Empire+Strikes+Back.ogg&wiki=en

I don't think it's fair to label either party the "party of the middle class"."I read a book twice as fast as anybody else. First, I read the beginning, and then I read the ending, and then I start in the middle and read toward whatever end I like best." - Gracie Allen

Quick question:
So arabs constitute about 20% of Israels population, right? And arab parties have 8 seats in the polls, out of 140? 8/140 = 6%. So what are the other 14% voting for? Or are they not voting at all? Why? BTW, what was the total turnout last election?Gnu Ex Machina - the Gnu in the Machine

Except that Sharon is a good old socialist."Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master" - Commissioner Pravin Lal.

Gnu :
They either boycot the elections of the zionist entity or vote for the Labor. 40% of the Arabs who vote, vote for them. Which, in the current state of conditions means that more than one third of the Labor voters are Arabs. This shows exactly how much they had fallen."Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master" - Commissioner Pravin Lal.

I´d vote for any party that had a viable solution to the palestinian situation. A party that is committed to peace and will see to both israeli and palestinian interests. A party that is willing to turn a new leaf and end the bloodshed.
Is there such a party?
(Well, not much marxism in that. But I think the situation is way beyond political dogmas, both leftist and rightist. It´s time to take the humanitarian approach IMHO.)

1)there are 120 seats in the parliament.
2)muslim arabs, descendants of the phalachs and the town dwelling arab population are around 12% they're the ones who vote for the arab parties, mostly. The Beudins and the Druze vote for the general parties, in the case of the druze, are also conscipted. There is also the arab Christians. together they form around 17%-18% of the population.

A funny vote about Hadash, and it's arab members.:
lately, there was a meating scheduled between the Hadash leadership, and some activists in the gay/lesbian community. Guess who didn't come? the arab memebers.Obviously, the arab members of the party, are as communist as Ronald Reagan, and are still guided by the traditionalist mentality of hating the gay, opressing the woman, etc.. It was rather funny to try and to justify posters on indymedia.org.il that piggish behaviour. "they're under a lot of constraints. We shouldn't forget that the arabs are the real victims... " yeah. the real victims, pushing jobs to their family members, corrupt leadership of local authorities. Way to go, "commies"!
