  • Easy as. The problem is thinking of it first.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

you'd probably be best off making a bot to run through every tile once, and recording which ones werent ocean.

then you'd have a map to start from
Not necessary, you could just save a copy of the map where the ocean is already coloured white and the land is coloured, well, any other colour. Just do a bit of messing so you have a clear map of the land masses, so when the bot picks a random square, it first double checks it against it's own map, or better still, you can get it to retrieve the map in it's current state and get it to pick only 'non apolyton, non ocean' squares...you may want to put in a few tweaks so that it is more effective at finding the gaps if it has secured almost complete dominance Now I am not a programmer, but I have an idea how to go about doing it

          • I'm sure if we looked around someone has already created a bot that would do the job for us. It's just a matter of finding it.

            • If my programming skills were a little more up to date I would have a crack at it. Alas BBC BASIC and 6502 Assembler doesn't cut it on a modern PC...

                • I never had to do anything with those, quite frankly, abstract peeks and pokes on a BBC

                  • we need more people involved doing this. I spent a good part of my time last night to get Apolyton to 4 place. When I look again all did was gone. Someone else besides me has to clikc on that map!
