And if we talk about responsible gun owners, sure they don't cause too much problems. They have it under control and they are rational adults. But what about the 'crazy' people?!

So poverty is said to be one reason for killings (and gangs etc). That has very much to do with it I would guess.. but if the poor people wouldn't have guns, they wouldn't be able to put up such a war?

I think it comes back to the frontier spirit again. In the UK if you wound or kill someone breaking into your property you go to jail, in the US you get away with it in general. So in the UK a gun is seen as less of a deterrent than in the US, seeing as using it would get you put in jail.

The "crazy" people will also get their guns, unless they fail their tests. Then you get the Columbine incidents. It is less likely to happen in the EU, but as Germany and Finland have proven over the last year, disgruntled teenagers with serious psychological problem can still get their hands on weapons and use them...

lightblue, sure.. but it should be made difficult for the crazy people to get guns. It's not enough IMO to file a paper in which you state that you're crazy by checking a box 'I'm normal' instead of 'crazy,will shoot with in 7 days'.

Yup.. I wasn't aloud to have any toy guns either .
I had a gun for christmas toy once and my mom took it away, and then I had that pellet gun, my mom was strongly opposing it and after few incident, she got her way and took it from me. And look where it got me! Even the army couldn't get it out of my system.. the lust for gunnssss....

And your dirty culture was dominating our games too. I played cowboys and indians all the time, and no one wanted to be indian because they always got shot .
Or sheriff and robbers, but every once in a while, the sheriff got shot.. but indians just didn't get a brake!
