The programmers there are the most informative and very easy to get along with. They even helped me personaly when I had a prob with a block of AI code that was in the released AvPGE source code.

It's a shame these guys didn't last. They were a great company and listen to new ideas.
Companies that I loathe to no end
Raven
These guys think that nothing is their fault. Whenever someone has a prob with a game of theirs, they flam you then say you need more RAM (yeah, like 2GB of RAM is not enough).
LucasArts
For letting companies like Raven screw up thier games.
Bethesda
Though not as evil as Raven, they do have a MAJOR ego thing. Some of programmers will bite back and even get the mods of their site to perma-ban you.
Monolith/Sierra
Similar to Bethesda, and I did get perma-ban from avpnews.com for not liking AvP2. I guess my reasons were too good.
So as you can see, I came across lots of jerks. It's making me think twice about being a programmer myself. Do I really want to be a total jerk like these guys? I think I would take a course in PR before I go any further, or at least anger managment. I am Irish so that might be a problem.

I thought Tropico was developed by PopTop (or was it GoD?) and AoW was by Triumph Studios.

I vote for Enlight Software, just because they are a local outfit.

Does the company have to make games right now? I'd vote for Microprose UK myself... Mostly because of UFO: Enemy Unknown, actually, but also a lot of other classics...
I'd vote for Stella Polaris Development Team, but as it's not a company and not listed, I have to abstain. Well, I agree with Ari about MicroProse and I'd be delighted to vote at them, but as they're not included and Big Huge Games is out too, I have to vote Firaxis. But good choice too.
