Oh golly, here we go about Iran again. Declassified documents form the old Soviet Union show that the communists were planning to stage a coup, backed up by Soviet troops still deployed in the area of northern Iran occupied by Soviets from 1943 to 1951. The regime in Iran was too waek to even demand the withdrawal of the Russians and was taking no action against the local communuists agitating riots throughout the country. At the time of the coup the democratic regime had less than one month to live according to Soviet plans. Had there been no intervention the Ayatollah Kohmeini would never have bothered the US because he and his kind would have been the first to die under a communist satellite regime. Indeed, even if he had managed to escape to Paris he still would not have lived, because in the 1950s the reach of the Warsaw Pact extended to clandestine executions of dissidents in western cities. The Warsaw Pact was much, much more efficient than the Shah could ever have dreamed.
BTW, if the west and the US have been so pervasive and ruthless in their control of politics in the middle east, how is it that the "Arab Socialist" movement ever managed to take control of Egypt, Syria, and Iraq?

Talking about selective memory.. Or just amnesia?
You have seem to be forgotten the Brittish presence in the rest of Iran.
Russia's influenced couldnt even get a grip on Tabriz, only Baku (todays Azerbayjan) fell in their influence, while the whole of Iran came to be ruled by Brittish-installed clown Reza Shah the Cossack without a known father
