As you can see in my location, I'm from the US. Mediterrian people are white, on both sides of the sea. Just like Africans and East Asians come in different shades, so do white people. Thin blooded Nords aren't the be-all and end-all of whiteness, no matter what Adolf told you.

"White" is a subjective term that has been abused by Europeans far too long to mean only Christian "Nordics". Hence Middle Easterners, who distance themselves from the West (understandably), would not use the word "white".

Try words like "Caucasoid", "Mongoloid", "Negroid", "Australoid".

I seem to recall reading somewhere that some people have a hard time finding bone marrow donors because people of their race only make up a small percentage of the U.S. population. Or maybe they were looking for donors of mixed race. Anyway, if someone of the same race is required for a transplant, that would seem to indicate that there is indeed some biological aspect to race. Or maybe my brain is playing tricks on me, and I've completely misremembered.

What I don't fully understand is why this topic is so offensive to so many people. Could someone enlighten me on that?
