I can't believe I wasted all that time explaining this."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

It's totally irrelevent whether it's his opinion or not.

Why shouldn't I put it after his quote. It was a direct response to his assertion.
As for putting some sort of disclaimer, I assume people who I'm arguing with follow the discussion. Sometimes they don't, but I can't be arsed to make sure everyone does (hell, sometimes, I don't follow it). It seems rather self-righteous of you to criticize me on this point.
I think that is relevent, it or it seemingly being true before he said it's not. But it's not true, nor seemingly."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

My "reason" is probably stubborness and a bit of vanity, what's your excuse?"Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

Self-righteous? I think you did a wrong I try to avoid. Not just that, you totally denied/deny doing it, which in my eyes is much worse.
Come again?
I was just playing with the possibility that it at first hand seemed to you that it was his opinion, and later reveleaded to not be, which would make it less bad. It was even off topic of our off topic topic.
I think I should get some sleep finally, it's 10 am

Maybe we should ask the guys opinion too about this.

I've answered your accusation totally and completely, and you haven't bothered backed it up. It's really starting to bore me. He's a racist, and any pretense of "what if" is bull****.
If both sides are totally honest they will admit that science has not proven whether races are equal or not. Ranskaldan makes a good comparison between the "anti-racists" and fundimentalists.
Although nothing has been proven scientifically, the anti-racists claim moral superiority, and accuse anyone with a different viewpoint on the subject of being motivated by hate or paranoia.

By your argument it would also be factually correct for me to say that in the UK or US white males are more likely to commit fraud than other races. Does this mean that the tax departments should inspect the accounts of companies with white accountants more thoroughly than those that employ black accountants?
Not necessarily, but I am not offended by the statement you made about white males if it is factually correct.
quote:
Would it be OK for a police chief to say that publically and give the impression that the white males are generally corrupt?
Its still a statement of fact, so I don't have a problem with it.Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth

X-Fear!
Why choose race as the factor to home in on is the point. Why not look into it and maybe discover that it's most likely to be people in a certain level of role in a certain size of company with a certain set of personal problems that are to blame.
The best link between people and violent crime isn't one of race but one of hard drugs. Addicts are more likely to commit crime than non addicts. So a good police strategy might be to target and help addicts. See here.
What's the difference between linking crime to race and linking it to drugs? Drug use is a societal problem not a genetic one.Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth
