Shut up marcus. You aren't appreciate to open your mouth.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

Mark: You don't make any sense. I make more sense then you. Leftism is fungus. It is common sense it is. It violates capitalism which is wrong.

Fez, I said to go away and I meant it. You never contribute anything but bile and distract from discussing the issues. I don't want that on my thread. GET OUT.

            Dave: As to casualties:

Public sentiment about war with Iraq varies widely depending on the circumstances, says a new poll that suggests the issue could be an unpredictable influence in upcoming elections.

Just over half the respondents, 53 percent, in a CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll released Monday said they favored invading Iraq with U.S. ground troops in an attempt to remove Saddam Hussein from power, while 40 percent opposed such a step. Support was down from 74 percent last November and 61 percent in June. People were evenly divided on whether the United States had done what it could to solve the situation diplomatically.

Almost half, 47 percent, said they thought the United States should invade. Twenty-seven percent said they would support such a decision even though they did not think it was a good idea.

Just over half, 53 percent, in an ABC News poll out Monday said they thought the United States could handle the war on terror and a war with Iraq at the same time, while 40 percent disagreed.

Support for an invasion dropped steadily when the question included a rising number of casualties.

            * If it would cause 100 casualties, it was 50 percent supporting, 42 percent opposed among likely voters.

            * If it would cause 1,000 casualties, more were opposed, by 51-43.

            * If it would cause 5,000 casualties, opposition grew to 57-40.

Two issues rise above the others in the elections for Congress this November -- the economy and the possibility of war with Iraq.

Among people who said economic conditions were most important, likely voters were divided on who could handle that issue best, with 47 percent saying Democrats and 43 percent saying Republicans.

Among those who said the possibility of war with Iraq was most important, 47 percent said Democrats were best able to handle it and 37 percent said Republicans.

The CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll of 1,502 adults was taken Thursday through Sunday while the ABC News poll of 1,029 was taken Wednesday through Sunday. Both had error margins of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Doesn't matter what poll you post... it is based on an inadequate sample.

Boris, the poll I was referring to was the CBS/New York Times poll which indicated similar numbers. The other point of note was that a higher majority felt that too much attention was being paid on Iraq as opposed to the economy. This doesn't bode well for a war that hasn't started yet.

Don't encourage him. I want him to leave my thread and I mean it. He has the anti-Midas touch, as everything he touches turns to crap. This thread already has degenerated into another Everyone Vs. Fez's Stupidity, and I don't want it to be that.
