  • tinyp3nis, I think your handle will raise some attention from the moderators very soon

But I agree, I think the tipping system is ridiculous. I like the charge of something to be upfront, I don't like these hidden extras and this discretionary thing about leaving tips, and if you don't leave a sufficient tip you are given a massive guilt trip blah, blah, blah. It just seems a very strange way to do things.

        • Rgoan Josh: no. I'll always tip according to the bill. servers have to tip out based on sales. And you should think about the tip before you decide how much you are going to spend, and include atleast 15% in the total.

I just know a couple gay guys who live there, and according to them being gay in the South isn't exactly a fun experience. But hey, when you saw a gay couple for a couple minutes no one bugged them so it's all good.

But you would be surprise in the demographic growth of Hispanic populations in the United States in regions you would not first think of -- such as far north as southern Colorado, or as far northeast as Wisconsin with a very high percentage, for a midwestern state.

If you think about the states that are experiencing an increase of Hispanic populations, you would think that this country has become bilingual -- look at product instructions, public signs, and government mailed documents.

The number of Hispanics in the country isn't the point. The point is that they immigrated without bothering to learn the majority language, which is very, very rude to put it mildly.

I encourage all immigrants to learn English as a second language if that is not their primary language.

But I will not condemn those immigrants who have chosen not to learn English, or are unable to learn English well enough.

                        • Why not? You don't find it incredibly rude that they want to come to a country but refuse to speak the language?

So, I should be able to move to Mexico and expect them to speak English?

                          • Very difficult to get Canadian citizenship if you do not make an effort to learn English or French.

Much easier to get an entry visa if you already know either.

It's funny how being able to understand your boss, your co-workers, the police, the courts, the law makers and much of the rest of what's going on aids in being a productive member of a society.
