The worst part, for me and funny now, when I was waiting tables, was the waiter nightmare. I don't know if you any of you have had it. In my nightmare, I have to wait on a huge number of tables and I am unable to get to any of them. The customers are yelling and no one is getting anything and more customers keep coming in. Any of you waiters ever had this dream?

What really annoys me is when a restaurant is run by a cheap-skate owner and doesn't employ nearly enough people to properly run the restaurant and regardless of how hard you work, people will still be annoyed by your lack of speed and service and undertip you. actually, it is quite the opposite. I'm one of those damned people that thinks that everyone is an individual, and deserves my best effort until they prove otherwise. If anything, I would say that I actually give blacks better service than others, because i take extreme caution not to mess anything up, and pay very close attention to what they want. But asher, the response you would get in the south would still be the response you would get anywhere else. even though it isn't normal for southerners...People get assaulted anywhere for anything.

I am not that perceptive. I prolly could not tell the difference, but then again I have not lived my life waiting for the stuff that a black person lives with every day.
Were I black, and were I to sense a difference in the person I was dealing with as opposed to what is going on at the tables around me, it would certainly have an effect on my reaction. You might try too hard?
