I'm notg persuaded that the Pakistanis have cooled it that much. If anything they have been more active than ever in Kashmir and I doubt the temperature between Indian and Pakistan is gouing to thaw for some time..

Nice idea to talk to the Turks but I doubt very much that they will agree to making large tracts of Turkey and autonomous Kurdish region anytime soon. Still, it doesn't hurt to try....

I would be very cautious pinning any major activoity on the word of Mossad right now. This is avery major coup for an organisation that recently has suffered from frankly being a bit crap. Rather too good to be very likley. The closeness of Israel and Bush right now and Bush's need to have some justification for his activities in Iraq would make me read that particular report with a whole salt cellar full of salt before I decided to believe it.

Well there are hearing coming up in Congress on Monday. Presumably, Bush will present evidence of Iraqi WoMD development programs. Otherwise, Congress will surely bolt the "coalition" as did Nato after Ritter's address.

Um... why not? It's true. If anyone thinks that the ruler of a pissant Mid East country has more influence on the stablity of the world than the President of the United States, you are on crack.

And there is more than enough evidence that Saddam has been a stabilizing force in the ME. Without him, you would have Greater Iran and fundies having greater reign in the region.
