as well as the rocket that sent the man to the moon was based on german technology. Germany invented the rocketry first, we(i mean both sides) sacked it just like when Civ I allowed you to obtain tech when you take over a city. there.

The Russian rocketry program was built upon technology captured from the German V-2 program during WWII. Both the Russians and the Americans competed to capture V-2's and the scientists who designed them. Both countries space programs are deeply indebted to German advances in rocketry.

Kibalcich invented the rocket at the end of XIX century.
Tsiolkovsky invented spaceship, spacesuit, and many moe. He launched a bunch of small liquid-fueled rockets(edit: ) rockets and created a theoretical basis of rocketry and cosmonautic in the beggining of XX century- he is the founding father of cosmonautics.
Goddard is the same theif as Marcony- who stole invention of radio from Russian inventor Popov.
