A major key to humour is surprise. Use ideas or imagery that catches people off-guard. Lure them into expecting one conclusion, but instead produce something surreal or grotesque.

I think that your unabashed love for Smirnoff Ice is very funny. It plays perfectly with the gay stereotype.

Play up the gay stereotype on yourself.

Also watch as MUCH Monty Python as you can.

So you want me to PRETEND to be a nelly b*tch??

I don't know if I can stoop that low, but I can try.

No, I didn't say that... I meant make fun of it using yourself.

And the most important part is MONTY PYTHON. Watch as much as possible. That and Faulty Towers... and also Blackadder. Be sure to read 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy' and its sequals (all 4), and be sure to read book 1 and 2 over and over repeatedly until it seeps in your unsuspecting skull. ABSORB

And I hope this post doesn't get eaten by the evil forum bug as well. Oh well, here goes... well, something.

Don't listen to Imran, the British can't do anything right.

The British are funny... just look at their royals .

And one thing they do is self-depreciating humor, something valuable to learn.

First you must learn British humor. Then you must learn North American humor. That is the way it should be.

Canuck comedians are pretty good too. Kids in the Hall, Mike Myers, good stuff.

                          Also, use absurdities.

Canuck comedians are pretty good because they are simply wacko cousins of the Brits.
