This is just a basic outline I have of the main torso. When I have the whole thing done, I can then add muscle definition, clothes etc...

          Matt,

That's really good work. I think you need to do some more work with the ground/floor, say, adding some garbage, have some dents and bumps. A cockcroach or a rat might be interesting. Some graffiti on the walls might help, too.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Really boosting my confidence. I've not really done anything arty in my whole life

UR I'll get to work on that, I agree that the walls and floor are very bland.

It's not unusual that you have hidden talents that you don't even know you have until you start doing something.

If you really enjoy doing 3D stuff and has a flair for it, I say this will be a better career opportunity for you than doing something that doesn't interest you at all.

IIRC there is a really good arts school in Toronto for computer graphics, unfortunately I forgot the name at the moment.

I've done this with pov-ray 3.5. It's a shareware ray-tracing program. If you want it, go and get it!

It's for a Smac custom faction, Urban-Turban. It's not supposed to be nonsurreal.

I suggest this picture to rah,
it could be his 'banning' picture!

                                MattHiggs,
                                very nice work

I recommend you to use the LIGHTWAVE for light/shadows scenses. The layout of programm is familiar with 3dMAX Studio and it can give much better results if you work with photographs.
Continue to use 3dMax, if you want to create 'human' models and Ultra Fractal for vector sizes.
