    Sava basically wants:

The US to become Somalia! Wipe out wealth of an entire country! **** UP THE WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE FOR GOOD! MAKE PEOPLE STARVE! I AM SICK OF HIM.

MY beliefs that he should be jailed for treason are growing...

Sava, apologize to us all now!

Have no clue about the real world. If you think for one minute Asher this will not change things you need to grow up. All systems change and with the BS this system has going for it the change will be hard and fast...Who knows maybe you will even have to work your way through school?
What is UP with you and "grow up?

Look at history, man, even after 1929 we're still very capitalist. Sure, there's more safeguards but it's essentially the same system.

This isn't nearly as bad as 1929 and you seem to think we're suddenly going to switch to something else or something?

And damnit, blackice, I do work and pay my own way through school. Get a ****ing clue.

BTW, a weaker dollar means more exports... so the stock market will shoot up soon because of that factor...

You are quite wrong WhiteElephants, the Chicago Tribune reported a study last year that over 60% did not own any stock whatsoever. Only about 19% of the US active parcipates in stock trade. I believe there was a 3% margin of error. It was sometime last week, but I'll try and find some stats online.

Asher: I meant that the stock market's philosophy was the same as Reaganomics.

Fez: You obviously know nothing about what it means to be American. To speak out against tyranny and corruption in government is American. Or haven't you heard about a little scuffle called the American Revolution?

I can't predict the future. I don't know what will happen. All I know is that times are changing, and people are fed up with this Corporate Republic that we live in (Americans, not you damn foreigners ). Until the day I die, I will strive to be a catalyst for such change. Apolyton today, tomorrow, the world!

If that whole Ken Lay death thing is against the rules, I issue a preemptive apology before I feel the wrath of Ming.

            Hmmm...

So, Sava, what economic policy would you suggest?

Communism? (Yeah, we all know how great that's turned out.

            Socialism?

            Military conquest and tribute?

Depends on what the definition of "owning stock" and "trading stock" is. You can have money invested in a 401k and neither own stock nor trade it, yet the economic livelyhood of your 401k is directly tied to the markets performance.

I've worked at a bunch of places, I'm currently working at Voodoo Computers, which is hardly a 7-11.

What a fictious claim. There is no tryanny in the government, there may be corruption but heck at least the government is highly transparent.

****. You never seem to understand what economics is. Your entire set of beliefs is screwing people who work for a living. Corporate republic is better than some ****ing hell hole like Somalia, pardon my language there, but I must be frank with you: GET A GRASP ON REALITY. Stop with this unrealistic revolutionary garbage and rise up over this nonsense. REALITY CHECK!

Sava, out of rampant curiosity, how old are you?

If it is more than 8, could you please act it?

So do you think the Great Depression was a good thing? Suffering and los of pride is funny? Starving children, crime, and general poor-being are definitely something to hope for. Why, look at Sub-saharan africa- they're having a ball over there.

Fez, I shall not apologize to you. You don't even live in the US, you aren't an American, so don't lecture me on treason. My family escaped fascism and communism to come to this country. I support freedom.

And saying I want a Communist system isn't just stupid, its absurd. There are many other expletives I could use to describe your accusations, but I won't (looks over shoulder for Ming).

I believe that everyone should at the minimum, be given an equal opprotunity to work hard and advance themselves. I believe that government has the responsiblity to provide food, clothing, safety, health, and education to those who cannot support themselves. I also believe in free enterprise and competition in commerce, but history has proven that the government has to play parent to the corporate children that don't want to play by the rules.

The current economic system is counter-productive in this aspect. Most of the regulations that are in place aren't being enforced.

                            To set the record straight..

                            Do I want...
the government to seize property, wealth and possesions?
                            NO
everyone to get an equal piece of the pie?
                            NO
everyone to get an equal opprotunity to get a piece of the pie?
                            YES
everyone to get an opprotunity to achieve their potential?
                            YES
the government sticking is nose (or other body parts) where it doesn't belong?
                            NO
a society where smoking, alcohol, red meat, drugs, and violence on TV is banned?
NO.. it should all be legal, but programs to help fight addiction should be free to all, and addicts shouldn't be made criminals.
To us, it is the BEAST.

I apologize for my behavior... I have been made extremely angry but also distressed and saddened by the views of one particular poster.

I will say this one last thing:
Sava, you being that one particular poster, if you want to see suffering which you probably never have. Move to a 3rd world country. I have lived in one for two years so I know. Move to Africa and you will change your opinion faster than the speed of light.
