Exactly. We don't vent our anger by pumping each other full of bullets, so we let it out during political discussions.

That and the fact that the parliamentary system fosters a far more "honest" level of debate...

      No can do.

The Albertans refuse to hug anyone until the Eastern bastards apologize for the NEP.

The Quebecers won't hug anyone because they are a distinct society.

Torontonians are too busy making money.

And BCers can't hug anyone cause they're already hugging trees or their chainsaws.

Americans need too much sleep. I figure it has something to do with rampant obesity.

            while this is a threadjack

why do you think that US has a less honest level of debate?

and in the US, people do not pump people of other geographical areas full of lead (Well not for 137 some years)

The US isn't nearly as diverse as Canada.

Compare Quebec to Nova Scotia to Alberta politically and culturally.

You haven't seen news clips of "debates" in Canada, have you?

It's everyone screaming at eachother and yelling.

Many Americans seemed to find it perfectly acceptable to say that the President should not be criticized in time of war. That stifled debate.

Canadians would not accept that. During the October 1970 crisis when Trudeau enacted martial law to deal with some terrorists, Canadians continued to argue about whether he was justified in what he did. I don't think that would happen in the States.

so the issue is that you are segregated, geographically?

well maybe you need something like we had back when we were desegregating

force people from the different areas to move so as to have the different groups even in every geographical area

                              Melting Pot vs. Mosaic.

US is melting pot. Canada is Mosaic.

Good or bad is up to you.

                                we discuss things

                                and many disagree with Bush

we just don't get out our claws over it (or per capita we seem to not do it as often)
