You'd think that simply "existing" is a mistake in itself....

The Vietnam War was the greatest U.S. mistake.
"The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is to have with them as little political connection as possible... It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world, so far as we are now at liberty to do it." George Washington- September 19, 1796

The worst thing my country has done might also be the confusing regulation of continued slsary pay in case of illness...

belgium's biggest mistake? well there are numerous things... but i'll shut up about the corruption and so on, everybody knows it and who cares anyway...

I'd say our biggest mistake wasn't made by ourselves! The surrounding countries such as the Prussians, English, Dutch and French put the Flemish together with the Walloons in 1830... as to why I don't know cos we don't even speak the same language and all, and our economies were based on totally different things (the Walloons with their coal and metal industry...Flanders and cloths, trading and so on...it resulted in oppression of the Flemish...now however it's the other way around

but well life goes on and we're one country now, and i don't mind at all

                        Not convicting former President Clinton.
                        HAVE A DAY.
<--- Quote by Former U.S. President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt
"And there will be strange events in the skies--signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And down here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. The courage of many people will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth, because the stability of the very heavens will be broken up. Then everyone will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand straight and look up, for your salvation is near!" --Luke 21:25-28
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. --1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Scotland: Easily the Scottish attempt to colonise Panama. Despite being an inspired early attempt at a panama canal type system (mules were to be used to ferry goods from the Atlantic to the Pacific), disease and stupidity (taking wool to trade with the natives) finished off the colony, bankrupting an already impoverished country. Roll on the Act of Union a few years later.

Britain: The Somme. Almost a million lives pissed away (not counting the huge German casualties) for a few miles of worthless mud. The Germans were pretty safe from the Allied bombardment with their superior trenches, and we used the wrong kind of shells anyway. The men were ordered to walk (not run) and were ripped apart by the Germans. To add insult to injury, Britains secret weapon, the tank, was used to try and turn the tide, but their numbers were too few, and the element of surprise was lost. Truly lions led by donkeys.

Letting Finland be independent. Sadly, they suffer the skills to decide over themselves.

Going for Mr. Rasmussen as the Danish PM was a horrible choice. For once, Winston will agree with me on a political issue.

The top worst mistakes the United States has made in my opinion:

                                1) having to have over 600,000 Americans kill each other as the method to resolve the issue of slavery

                                2) the Nazi-like program of eugenics in the United States in the 1950's

                                3) the mass property theft and desert relocation of loyal Japanese American citizens during World War II

                                4) the economic imperial policies of the United States over Latin American countries from the 1890's, through the 1930's

                                5) the imposition of poverty and deprivation of Native American tribes in desolate reservations since the late 19th century
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
